Content Planner

The Calendar is where you plan, organize, and schedule your blog posts - whether you're publishing manually or automatically.

It gives you a clear view of what's ready to go, what's scheduled, and what still needs to be planned.

How the Calendar Works

When an article is generated, it will appear in your Unscheduled Articles section at the top of the Calendar.

From here, you can:

  • Drag and drop articles onto any future day to schedule them
  • Click Schedule All to automatically fill the calendar with your ready content, one post per day
  • Move scheduled articles to different days by dragging them again
  • Unschedule any article by clicking on it and choosing "Unschedule" or by dragging it back to the Unscheduled section

Note: Articles can only be scheduled for today or future dates. Past dates are disabled. To reuse an article previously scheduled for a past date, unschedule it first (either from the editor or by dragging it back up) and then assign it a new future date.

Where You Can Schedule From

You can schedule articles in two places:

  • From the Calendar view: Drag & drop articles or use the "Schedule All" button
  • From the Article Editor: Open any article and choose a date using the "Schedule for..." option

Once scheduled, the article will automatically appear in the Calendar.

Manual vs Auto-Publishing

When you schedule an article, what happens next depends on whether your site is connected via Settings → Integrations:

  • If you've connected a CMS: The article will attempt to publish automatically on the selected date via the integration
  • If you haven't connected a CMS: The article stays scheduled in RankPill, but you'll need to copy and publish it manually on your own site

Check the Settings → Integrations page to see available connections.

Why Only One Article Per Day?

RankPill schedules and publishes only one post per day by default, following a common SEO best practice.

Here's why this matters:

  • Publishing consistently helps search engines index your content effectively
  • A steady cadence builds authority and trust with Google over time
  • Posting too much content at once, especially on a newer site, can sometimes look unnatural or trigger spam signals

This default behavior is a strategy designed to support your site's growth in search results.
