Connecting to Framer
Integrating RankPill with your Framer project allows you to seamlessly sync your AI-generated content directly into your Framer CMS collections. This is achieved by using the official RankPill plugin for Framer, which pulls articles from your RankPill account.
How to Set Up the Framer Integration
Follow these steps to connect your Framer project:
-
Navigate to Framer Settings: In your RankPill dashboard, go to
Settings
>Integrations
and click on the "Framer" integration. -
Generate Your API Key: On the Framer integration page, an API key will be automatically generated and displayed for you. This key is unique to your business and is required to authenticate your Framer project with RankPill.
-
Install the RankPill Plugin: Open your Framer project. Navigate to the
Insert
menu, search for "RankPill" in thePlugins
section, and install it. -
Configure the Plugin: Once installed, drag the RankPill plugin from your assets onto your Framer canvas. The plugin's configuration panel will appear on the right, prompting you for two things:
- API Key: Paste the API key you copied from your RankPill dashboard.
- CMS Collection: Select the Framer CMS collection you want to sync your articles with.
-
Sync Your Articles: After configuring the plugin, you can fetch articles from your RankPill account. The plugin allows you to filter articles by their status (e.g.,
published
,generated
). This gives you control over which articles you want to bring into your Framer project.
How It Works
This integration works by having the Framer plugin "pull" data from your RankPill account.
- The API Key securely authenticates the plugin, giving it read-only access to your articles.
- From within Framer, you use the plugin to fetch a list of your articles from RankPill.
- The plugin then populates your selected Framer CMS collection with the article data, including title, content, meta description, and more.
This process allows you to manage when and how articles are added to your Framer site directly from the Framer editor.
How Framer Sync Works
Instant Display After Sync
The Framer integration is a sync CMS - this means:
- Articles sync directly to your Framer CMS collection
- Once synced, articles display instantly on your website
- No separate publishing step is required in Framer
- Your website will automatically show the synced content
Manual Sync Required
- Framer doesn't support automatic syncing
- You must manually click "Sync" in the Framer plugin to get new articles
- This is a limitation of Framer's platform - they don't allow automatic content syncing
Common Issues & Solutions
Articles Not Appearing on Website
Problem: Articles sync to Framer CMS but don't appear on your live website.
Solution:
- Check that your Framer site is properly set up to display CMS content
- Ensure your blog page template is connected to the correct CMS collection
- Verify articles are appearing in your Framer CMS collection after syncing
Manual Sync Required
Problem: Articles don't automatically appear in Framer CMS.
Solution:
- Framer doesn't support automatic syncing
- You must manually click "Sync" in the Framer plugin each time
- This fetches new articles from RankPill into your CMS collection
Articles Stay "Scheduled" Status
Problem: Articles remain marked as "Scheduled" in RankPill even after syncing.
Solution:
- This is expected behavior - syncing doesn't automatically change the status
- Manually change status to "Published" in RankPill after syncing to Framer
- This helps you track which articles are live on your site
Cannot Edit Synced Articles
Problem: You cannot edit articles directly in Framer after syncing.
Solution:
- Articles synced from RankPill are read-only in Framer
- To make changes, edit the article in RankPill first
- After editing in RankPill, sync again to reflect the changes in Framer
- This ensures your content stays consistent between both platforms
Best Practices
- Sync Regularly: Remember to manually sync in Framer to get new articles
- Review Before Syncing: Review articles in RankPill before syncing to ensure quality
- Update Status: Mark articles as "Published" in RankPill after syncing to Framer
- Make Edits in RankPill: Always edit articles in RankPill, then sync again to update Framer
